Chevron Global Upstream is accepting online applications for the position of MCP HES Advisor - Risk Engineer located in Houston, Texas.Overview:This position will report to the Project HES Manager with functional reporting to the HES Manager – Chevron’s Upstream Capability, Asset Development. This position will be responsible for coordinating HES activities related to their project, while sharing knowledge and lessons learned within the broader HES group. The project engineering will be based out of Houston with frequent travel possible to the host country; Angola, Nigeria or Indonesia. During construction activities relocation to an international fabrication site may be required for ~ 24 months and 28 day rotation may be required during hook up and commissioning.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:• Own Risk Management related activities; ensure they are properly carried out. When necessary supervise outside resources for studies and other work.• Work closely with HES Lead to ensure that key HES activities are being carried out in an efficient and timely manner.• Risk based design including the management of quantitative risk assessments.• Operational experience to understand the HES requirements required within a project’s design to achieve Operational Excellence• Providing on-site technical guidance and assistance on wide variety of HES topics, including safe work practices, safety in design, risk management, industrial hygiene, environmental management and emergency management• Support project Incident and Injury-Free engagement at site and identify/develop other site IIF champions. • Support efforts to integrate HES processes into project execution and compliance with Project HES Management Plan• Participate in incident investigations, analysis, and reporting when needed. Required (Basic) Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, or health degrees. Other earth science degrees will be considered.
