Chevron Pipe Line Company is accepting online applications for the position of a Maintenance Specialist located in Houston (Bellaire), Texas through May 12, 2008. Overview:The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for providing input to and supporting Chevron Pipe Line Company (CPL’s) Work Management Process (WMP). The maintenance specialist is author and owner of the written Work Management Process. Currently the tool that is used to support the WMP is SAP PM; with that in mind it is critical that the maintenance specialist be proficient in the use of SAP PM and its application to CPL Operations and maintenance. The maintenance specialist also has to be able to work with all the CPL field Teams and HES (Health, Environmental, & Safety) & Reliability Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the Teams have properly developed maintenance plans that drive operational excellence in two primary areas Compliance and Reliability. This requires a collaborative relationship with the Field Teams (Travel to field Team locations as required)and Management and the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats. The role also call for the ability interface with SAP and other third parties to monitor the use of SAP PM and look for ways to continuously improve it’s application or trouble shoot problems that impact its use and bring them to resolution. Also required is the stewardship of the WMP, and the ability to review and analyze data in both the Compliance and Reliability areas, perform RCA (Root Cause analysis) and come up with appropriate SMART(Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant & timely) recommendations to eliminate process or system causes impacting the effectiveness of the WMP. Training of all CPL employees that require the use of SAP PM and any web based applications to enhance SAP PM is also a big part of the maintenance specialist’s position. This includes the development of the training documents through the verification that the training provided is effective (competency based) and driving the OE expectations in Compliance and Reliability is demonstrated through the tracking of appropriate leading and lagging metrics and the goals associated with these metrics.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Conduct Maintenance Coordinator Training Class annually• Conduct Field Training Classes as necessary• Perfect and Maintain Training Material• Oversee the Gathering of data for SAP PM and Integration Projects on a timely basis• Provide Technical Support• Liaison for SAP CVX and CPL• Monitor SAP PM use (track and develop metrics)• Ensure the integrity of the data captured• Report out to Management and Reliability Champions• Review current work processes and improved ways to use SAP PM• Monitor work overload conditions with SAP PM Technical Assistant and contract support members and assist with overload as required• Make recommendations to support improved organizational capability within support group and provide the training and support necessary to increase organizational capability within the support group• Review the Field Teams Preventive/Predictive Plans vs. Failures and Make recommendations to resolve through RCA and SMART recommendations• Oversee WMP metrics and analysis• Oversee maintenance plans for teamsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:• High school diploma is required• In Lieu of academic preparation the hiring group will accept 3-5 years use of and demonstrated proficiency in developing, training, deploying, analyzing, and trouble shooting SAP PM maintenance plans or equivalent CMMS tools and the demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge through collaborative Team skills directly to Pipe Line Operations and Maintenance.Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelors Degree is preferred in Computer Science or Engineering.Relocation Options:Relocation will not be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
