Maintenance & Technical Training/Operations Program Specialist

PSEG is  the second largest Nuclear Power facility in the U.S.  Our Plants, Salem Units I & II (PWR Plants) and Hope Creek (BWR Plant) are located in Southern NJ on the Delaware River just 25 minutes from the state of Delaware and 45 minutes from Philadelphia.  We are the one commercial nuclear power plant in the country that has two technologies (PWR and BWR) and the nuclear corporate organization in a single location. We’re also exploring development of additional nuclear generation.  We have an opening for a Maintenance & Technical Training/Operations Program Specialist

Provides Governance, Oversight and Support of the Salem and Hope Creek operations, maintenance and technical training and/or accreditation and evaluation, performance improvement and technology innovation functions of PSEG nuclear training. Participates in the business planning, budget and performance review activities for corporate nuclear training. Interfaces with external and industry organizations. Fulfills managerial responsibilities for assigned staff. participates as a key member of the nuclear training leadership team. Responsible for supporting site Training CFAM in establishing and reinforcing standards and expectations for Nuclear personnel and other interfacing personnel to ensuring an error free and professional work environment. Oversees application/implementation of the systematic approach to training, the training self-assessment program and performance indicators for Salem and Hope Creek.  Oversees the development of business plans and detailed budgets for the training organizations which support the training needs of the nuclear facilities. As a member of the PSEG nuclear management team, participates in the formulation of PSEG nuclear strategy and policy. Oversees INPO renewal of accreditation for operations, maintenance and technical training programs. Monitors, assesses and makes recommendations to training processes and performance to assure training programs meet PSEG Nuclear, INPO and NRC standards. Oversees Salem and Hope Creek benchmarking and relationships with external organizations. Coordinates peer/working groups in areas of cognizance and promotes teamwork and collaboration between training and the line departments.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in related discipline or education/training. Previous or current SRO license or certification. 7 to 10 yrs increasingly responsible professional experience. Four (4) or more years of professional supervisory/management experience in the implementation of training programs at a nuclear facility. Experience on INPO accreditation or evaluation teams, benchmarking and peer assessment teams. Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training. Effective leadership and collaboration skills.

Desired: Advanced degree. Four or more years of instructional experience. Substantial experience in leading teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments
