Chevron Corporation is accepting online applications for the position of Manager, HR Communications located in San Ramon, CA through May 16, 2008Overview: This position manages the group responsible for development and implementation of the global Chevron HR communication strategies that will maximize the impact, value and credibility of HR communications to internal and external audiences. Key activities include:• Develop and deploy the People Strategy Communication Plan • Develop and manage global HR communication and Web strategy• Maintain brand integrity (HR and Corporate brand)• Develop and manage Employer Brand including Careers Web site • Engage employees to ensure Chevron has the high-performing workforce necessary to deliver our corporate goals• Manage the reputation of HRThis position supervises 9 employees and is responsible for managing third party vendor alliances.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Works with VP, Human Resources and HR Strategy and Planning Committee, to develop and execute a well-integrated HR communication strategy, policy and plan for the HR function in support of Corporate and Business Unit objectives. • Manages communication events for VP, HR and other HR Leaders; such as town halls, presentations internally and externally, speeches and articles in internal and external publications.• Responsible for the direction, development and delivery of effective HR communication strategies both internally and externally, ensuring consistency of strategy, messages and HR brand. • Manages the editorial content, and development and maintenance of HR websites, including HR sites for operating companies.• Manages Corporate Responsibility efforts for HR.• Partners and coordinates with PG&PA (Corporate Communications, Branding and Advertising, Media Relations, Public Policy and Contributions and Programs, and Web groups) to develop strategies and processes for smooth delivery of employee and retiree communications.• Responsible for developing and maintaining the HR brand in conjunction with Public Affairs and the corporate brand guidelines. Working with PG&PA, responsible for developing HR’s advertising and recruiting communications and materials. Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Minimum of 10 years experience in a communications or HR role, including 3 years management experience.• Demonstrated leadership skills, including proven success in building and leading a team of high performing professionals.• Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives in the conceptualization and development of intern/external communications materials/presentations that reflect their priorities.• Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization to convey ideas, motivate and demonstrate subject matter expertise. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritize multiple functions, tasks and work time efficiently• Project management and implementations skills – ability to successfully deploy and implement large-scale projects• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. • Global focusPreferred Qualifications• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, communications, public relations or related field• Previous experience in energy related HR corporate communicationsRelocation Options: Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations: Expatriate assignments will be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-CA-San Ramon Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Human Resources
