John Deere Credit is looking for a Manager, Supply Management for the Wind Energy Division. MAJOR PURPOSE: Manages material value chain sub processes within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Processes (EOFP). These sub-processes may include all or some of the following: Supply Chain Integration, Direct Material, Indirect Material and Services, Inventory Control, Inbound and/or Outbound Logistics, Receiving, Internal Material Flow, Production Planning, Service Parts, Continuous Improvement, Supplier Quality, Supplier Warranty Administration, Sales and Operations Planning, Plan the Order, Wholegoods Management, and Acquire. This includes managing the relationship between the suppliers and managing the resources to support the processes they have responsibility for. Manages up to $100 million in purchases and manages some of the processes listed above. MAJOR DUTIES: Description of the major duties performed in this job. Actively develops the Supply Management strategy and goals for the supply management processes in the Wind Energy Division, while ensuring they are aligned with the enterprise/division/unit strategic plan. Manages and improves the processes within Supply Management by analyzing performance and monitoring results for the sub processes for all areas within the Wind Farm. Some of these include general contractors, logistics, transportation services, etc. Leads continuous cost reduction/value improvement activity, focusing on Shareholder Value Added (SVA); develops and implements communication plans to key stakeholders. Manages high level, strategic supplier contacts for their assigned value chains - developing relationships with upper management to assure long- term strategic sources: utilizing Achieving Excellence criteria communicates performance goals, gaps to performance, and outlines strategies for improvement to assure performance expectations are achieved as they relate to the company's business needs. Manages the administrative duties to support the Human Resources processes, e.g., performance management, salary pay plan, talent management, succession planning, training and development of direct reports. Assures implementation of Strategic Sourcing Strategies developed by Division and Enterprise Strategic Sourcing teams. Develops and monitors departmental budget to achieve budgetary goals. Authorizes and/or negotiates, in conjunction with Strategic Sourcing leaders, long-term agreements with key suppliers for multiple factories, regional, division or enterprise, as required. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job. Understanding of the Wind Energy and Renewables industry. Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices. Knowledge and application of Supply Management Processes and tools. Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements. Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) Degree in a Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) Degree in an Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) Relevant Work Experiences: Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line. Supply management experience such as negotiation, sourcing, product adoption, etc. Cross functional work experience(S) in multiple major areas such as: accounting, product engineering, quality, manufacturing operations, warehousing and/or distribution, production employee supervision, supply management, marketing, human resources, industrial engineering, etc. - Cross functional work experience(s) in two major areas such as: Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Management, Marketing, etc. Project management experience.
