Manufacturing Manager

Bloom Energy, a fuel cell company and one of Silicon Valley’s most promising startups, is looking for Production/Manufacturing Manager to join its world class team.  This individual should be a passionate, hands-on professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies. 

Role & Responsibilities:
§ Interface with Manufacturing Planner creating production schedules to meet demand.
§ Manage Human and Materials resources for maximum productivity, quality and morale.
§ Monitor manufacturing quality, productivity and throughput with metrics, and adjusting processes/resources/schedules as needed.
§ Supervise and motivate a team of workers; creating a culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement.
§ Coordinate with other teams, providers and recipients of services
§ Schedule employees work, handle disciplinary matters, identify and help provide their training needs.
§ Participate in the selection and design of equipment; the floor layout; materials handling; and production planning (including demand forecasting, production scheduling and ordering of material).
§ Periodic involvement with product design while interfacing with purchasing, planners, controllers, engineers, scientists and line supervisors.
§ Initiate and coordinate inventory cost control programs.
§ Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
§ Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.Education & Experience:
§ Bachelor of Science or Equivalent in Related Field.
§ Minimum 5 years experience with positive track record as Production Manager or equivalent, in a High Volume 24x7 manufacturing environment.
§ 3 – 5 years experience with positive track record as Production Manager or equivalent, in a specialty, Low Volume manufacturing environment.
§ Startup experience and experience in rapid scale up of a new technology highly desirable
§ Experience with PCBs, SMTs or thick-film manufacturing a plus
§ Experience in Production Systems: Scale-Up Manufacturing; Volume Production; Linear Production, Batch Production and Manufacturing Documentation/ERP Systems.
§ Demonstrated record of quality, cycle time and cost improvements using continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and/or Kaizen methods.
