Owen Oil Tools designs and manufactures a range of downhole tools; Perforating Guns, Shaped Charges and Detonators, Tubing Conveyed Perforating Tools, Pipe Recovery Products, Bridge Plugs, Setting Tools, Power Charges and Casing/Tubing Patch Systems.  The Bridge Plug line ranges from standard bridge plugs to wide range plugs composed of drillable materials.  This product line is currently being expanded to include high technology materials and extended performance.

The engineering group requires a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer II. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop the next generation of new and improved Bridge Plugs and Setting Tools using advanced materials and processes.

· Research, design and development of products, creation of drawings, creating and compiling technical documentation.

· Interact with clients to assess customer and product requirements. 

· Plan and conduct testing of prototype systems and tools.

· Sustaining engineering including providing customers with technical support.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline).

· Prefer 5 years experience in drafting, design, and development of downhole tools with specific experience in Bridge Plug and/or Packer development.

· Must have experience with engineering software (Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering including solid modelling) electronic workplace software (MS Access, Word, MathCAD, Excel, Product Data Management etc.)
