Mechanical Design Engineer II

PRCMechanical Engineer  UE is seeking aMechanical Engineer II for the Denver office.  Responsible for routine mechanical engineering and design tasks on assigned projects.  Requirements:  Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program. Five plus (5+) years experience in operation, maintenance, or design related in the mechanical field.  Occasional periods of field/office work entailing travel.  May be required to work in an office, as well as in an industrial plant environment.  Responsibilities:Is responsible in the design office for engineering and design tasks of the mechanical area of assigned projects. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered, receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans. Is assigned specific projects to complete, working as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignment. Independently performs the assignment with instructions as to the general results expected. Employee is responsible for following project responsibilities as defined for the assigned project position. Senior Engineers will supervise engineers or technicians on assigned work. May perform studies, preparation of specifications, evaluation of proposals, and development of estimates and make recommendations for purchase of mechanical system components. Will assist in the drafting and putting together of technical proposals and estimates for engineering projects. Directs drafting personnel in the proper execution of drawings for mechanical systems to which assigned. Examines mechanical drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy as peer reviewer. Checks manufacturers’ prints and coordinates between these and UE drawings. Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the mechanical engineering field. Is technically knowledgeable in specific areas of responsibility to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel, both within the Company and for the customer.
