Chevron Project Resources Company (PRC) is currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer on the combined Escravos Gas Project Phase 3B (EGP3B)/South Offshore Optimization Project (SOOP); responsible for project phase, including FEED, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation and hookup & commissioning of new associated Gas Gathering Compression Platform (GGCP) for offshore Escravos, Nigeria. Platform (GGCP) for offshore Escravos, Nigeria. Estimated CAPEX for the overall project is around $800 million. This position will initiate in Houston, TX then will be expected to mobilize to Lagos, Nigeria on residential status in 1Q 2009 through to project completion. Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:•Apply strong mechanical engineering background (e.g. rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systmes, etc.) to the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of offshore equipment and systems •Apply experience in major upstream capital project execution (preferably experienced in offshore facilities)•Ensure that Incident & Injury Free culture is reflected in facility design and all phases of project execution•Interface with other engineering disciplines, business unit personnel, existing facilities and other projects•Work effectively within a multinational project team, business unit personnel and partner representativesRequired Qualifications:•Bachelors Degree required in Mechanical Engineering. •Strong mechanical engineering background (e.g. rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, etc.)•Ability to ensure that Incident & Injury Free culture is reflected in facility design and all phases of project execution.•Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, Business Unit personnel, existing facilities and other projects.•Ability to work well within a multinational project team, Business Unit personnel and partner representatives.Relocation Options:•Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.If you are selected for the position, Chevron employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
