Chevron Global Gas is accepting online applications for the position of Power Support Center Operations Engineer located in Houston, TX. This position will work within the Chevron Global Power Technical Services team at the Power Support Center (PSC). The Power Support Center is being developed to assist Chevron power generation facilities sustain world class performance in direct support of facility producing objectives. This position will be part of the PSC team that develops and implements core functions integral to power generation equipment performance and equipment integrity. These core functions include Chevron Global Power best practice implementation, maintenance planning, operations support, engineering functions, margin analysis, performance monitoring, power system business plan support, and power project development and management. PSC Operations Engineers will primarily work from a base office in Houston. The position will travel approximately 30% domestically and internationally to assist power sites with the execution of these programs.Typically the power systems include large aero derivative and frame industrial gas turbines as well as steam turbine generators, Heat Recovery Steam Generators and associated balance of plant equipment. These facilities typically operate in simple cycle, cogeneration or combined cycle configuration. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities:- Power Facility Business Plans to include OPEX, CAPEX, Power system strategies, power volumetrics and integration of significant power equipment operations and maintenance activities with other facility operations schedules.- Maintenance Philosophy to include strategic and tactical maintenance planning, major inspection oversight/execution, critical combustion component parts tracking, standard maintenance procedure reviews, Predictive Maintenance program reviews, Condition Based Maintenance Program development.- Engineering and Technical Services to include performance monitoring, trip and operational anomaly analysis, efficiency and capacity margin analysis. - Operations Philosophy and Organizational Capability to include Standard Operating Procedure review for technical accuracy, Training and development program support, and power system operating optimization.- Equipment Upgrades to include the development and analysis for CAPEX projects supporting facility business objectives. Required (Basic) Qualifications:• BS ME, EE, ChemE, Civil or other technically related fields. • Approximately five (5) or more years of experience working closely with the maintenance planning, major inspection execution, operations supervision, and performance monitoring and analysis of gas turbine power plants. • Ability to travel 25-30% domestically and internationally• High level of experience with Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle or Cogeneration Power Plant Operations and Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Troubleshooting, and Management. In addition, you should have demonstrated experience in large aero and/or frame industrial gas turbine, generator, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, and Balance of Plant maintenance planning, turbine parts repair, margin analysis, performance monitoring, alternative analysis, specification development/ application, and project management. • Above average skill in spreadsheets, web applications, word processing, databases, project scheduling software, data historian, etc. is required. • Must be a confident presenter with the ability to communicate to both internal and external groups and be a strong advocate of the business unit.• Experience working at a monitoring and diagnostics center.
