Position Description:Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, and conducting business in approximately 180 countries, the company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for Operators located in Evanston, WY through May 25, 2008. This position will assume the responsibility of monitoring and optimization of all production process variables, ensuring that all production equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency, and acquiring and storing data.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities:• Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event• Perform the following at 8100 feet elevation, including in harsh winter conditions:• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain oil and gas production and facility equipment• Monitor and adjust all process variables associated with sour gas processing, natural gas liquid extraction and Production Safety Management facilities• Startup and shutdown of compressors and pumps• Operation and monitoring of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA• Partner with other employees, and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization• Assure all work performed adheres to Chevrons Operational Excellent standards and regulatory requirements• Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:• Possess a valid driver's license• Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime• Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection processPreferred Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• A minimum of six months related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries• Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental and production related issues• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipment• Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation• Familiarity with various processes regarding safety, environmental and production related issues• Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CMMS, and an aptitude for learning new software packages• Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers• Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervisionRelocation Options: Relocation will not be consideredInternational Considerations:Expatriate assignments will not be considered for this positionEOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-WY-Evanston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
