Optimization Engineer

Dynamic independent Oil & Gas company located in downtown Houston is aggressively seeking an Optimization Engineer.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

 

·  Will train under the senior engineering and technical staff to understand, design and improve the  manufacturing process;

·  Will learn the field operations and engineering tasks in preparation for a more senior engineering or operations role;

·  Will improve raw material utilization, optimize plant process controls, reduce process variability and enhance equipment reliability.

·  Will troubleshoot chemical process issues, help reduce operating costs, and improve plant and operational safety.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·  Must have an engineering degree (B.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

·  Must be computer literate.

·  Must be a self-starter, responsible and able to work with very limited supervision.

·  Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Training Environment

 

The incumbent will be based in Ruston, LA during the initial 3 months of training.  Following training, the employee will relocate to Salt Lake City, UT for an assignment of approximately 18 months supporting a new Sodium Hydrosulfate plant startup.  Upon completion of this assignment, the employee will return to Louisiana for a longer term assignment in Ruston, Baton Rouge or Lake Charles. This job requires 20% travel to production facilities, customers, suppliers, corporate offices and other locations necessary for continued education.
