The PSE Environmental Department is looking for an Environmental Scientist.  The Environmental Department is responsible for overseeing that all PSE business practices are conducted in the highest regard for the protection of human health and the environment. PSE has no higher priority than ensuring the safety of its customers, employees, and the public at large.  As an Environmental Scientist, you will direct the design, implementation, analysis, and/or management of detailed environmental activities to ensure PSE is able to provide a safe environment. This role also develops and maintains programs to conduct, review, and monitor assigned activities associated with company environmental programs. Performs and/or supervises environmental, and operations analysis, modeling, and field investigations supporting PSE’s remediation program. The Environmental Scientist will also conduct work in inter-disciplinary teams designed to accomplish departmental and inter-departmental objectives and coordinate work with personnel from other PSE departments, Consultants and Regulators.  You will conduct agency coordination and consultation as a representative of PSE on complex remediation projects and develop compliance reports, standard operating procedures, and documentation of management activities. Responsibilities will include developing standard operating procedures, documents programmatic evaluations, securing appropriate permits and/or regulatory approvals, and conducting other administrative duties in support of company programs and operations.  You will also conduct environmental field work which may include monitoring, physical data collection, and/or project management activities.

Qualifications 

 

Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Engineering and Environmental Sciences degrees.Ability to perform field work and manage site projects autonomously.Prior experience with: 

 - Soil, Groundwater, Sediment assessment and remediation projects

- Phase I and II assessments consistent with AAI protocols

- Soil boring and groundwater well installation, soil sampling, groundwater well sampling, data collection and management40 Hour HAZWOPER certification Experience in Emergency Response is preferred

 

 

Desired:Advanced degree.Experience of familiarity with electric or gas industry.
