Chevron International Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Petroleum Engineer – Gas Asset Team, located in Houston, Texas.Overview:The Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has gas resources in varying stages of development and exploitation. Whereas the Asset Teams are focused on maximizing oil reserves and optimizing development, the SBU is committed to creating value from the resulting produced gas. With projects aligned to exploit the entire gas value chain - optimizing gas injection, gas lift and Angola LNG gas supply become critical elements to manage within the constraints of infrastructure capacity, as well as priorities placed on oil production. Ad-hoc travel to Angola will be required. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Work on blowdown studies of large gas cap fields, well planning for future gas injection wells, assessing appropriate gas utilization opportunities and coming-up with varied, creative and doable alternatives. • Work with asset and project teams to develop on-block gas utilization opportunities and gas management plans. • Initiate Gas Optimization studies based on current infrastructure models. • Work and interface with facilities engineering and business planning. • Manage the interfaces and provide technical support to project team leaders. Required (Basic) Qualifications:• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.• A minimum of 3 years of broad petroleum engineering experience, including reservoir simulation experience and oil/gas production forecasting. • Ability to work with existing reservoir models. • Qualified Reserve Estimator Certificate.• Familiar with gas surface facilities and operations. • Knowledge of experimental design, network optimization well performance and gas injection principles.• Knowledge and application of the Subsurface Project Development and Execution Process. • The ability to manage and complete small projects with broad stakeholder group.• The willingness and ability to travel occasionally to Angola, as needed.Preferred Qualifications:• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative style. • The ability to interface and effectively work with key stakeholders who will play a key role in the success of these projects. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
