Position Overview:Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Petroleum Engineering Consultant located in Houston, Texas. The Petroleum Engineer will provide Petroleum Engineering asset evaluation and/or operations support to one or more Chevron upstream business units. Engineer will participate with technical staff on projects that support asset transaction initiatives by the business units.Some domestic and international travel will be required. For some projects, the work is done at the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) location, which will also require travel.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Provide general reservoir/production engineering support to on-going major capital projects and/or base business assets. • Assist in framing development scenarios for oil and gas fields and generating production forecasts and reserves for them from data provided in data rooms or gathered from other external sources.• Work on project teams with operating company (OPCO) and other technology company people.• Provide reservoir engineering, production forecasting, and reserves expertise for a wide range of reservoir types and depletion schemes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have: • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering.• A minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:• The ability to provide broad services for operating companies in reservoir and production engineering as an extension to base operating staffs.• The ability to mentor and train reservoir and production engineers.• The ability to evaluate reservoir development options, including primary and assisted recovery applications.• Experience in conceptual reservoir and/or field development planning and reserves estimation.• Experience with data room decision and economic analysis.
