Position Overview:Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Plant Equipment Reliability Inspector located in Pascagoula, MS through 07/15/2008.The Plant Equipment Reliability Inspector's primary duty is to communicate & maintain the mechanical integrity programs for fixed equipment in their assigned areas.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Will be assigned a mentor to assist with day to day understanding of job responsibilities and work processes. - Uses electronic NDE data to predict corrosion rates.- Calculates time for remaining life, and performs Fitness for Service evaluations.- Inspects equipment and monitors process data to assure equipment is safe for continued operation.- Ensures electronic Inspection Plans are developed, communicated, and executed on schedule.- Makes repair decisions and issues detailed repair Work Orders.- Ensures all jurisdictional and Company compliance requirements are met.- Manages contract Inspectors and specialized NDE personnel as necessary.- Provides technical information for engineers, operators, and quality control technicians.- Documents results of all inspections, tests, alterations, and equipment repairs in Meridium database.- Conducts root cause failure analysis and develops and communicates solutions for Worse Actors.- Successfully participates in technical, inspection, analytical, communication, and work flow training to develop skills.Required Qualifications:In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have:- Knowledge of refinery corrosion mechanisms, equipment history and jurisdictional requirements to maintain Inspection plans.- Experience performing on stream & shutdown inspections of refinery equipment.- Strong computer skills.- Ability to communicate with a clear, concise and accurate expression of facts, both in writing and orally.- Minimum of 5 years in the petro-chemical industry as an Equipment Inspector.- American Petroleum Institutes (API) certifications in 653, 570, 510.- Personal safety record should reflect the support of industry safety objectives.- Periodically requires working beyond the 40 hr week.Preferred Qualifications:In addition to the requirements, it would be desirable for candidates to have:- College Degree and / or National Board Inspection Code commission- Knowledge of Meridium to maintain Inspection Database and analyze condition monitoring data.Selection Criteria:Technical Skill: Must have NBIC commission. Will consider API 510 certification and ASME use experience. Skill set may include certifications in NDE methodologies and background knowledge in QC, RBI, FFS and refinery process corrosion phenomena. Job Experience: Experience performing on stream and shutdown inspection of refinery equipment. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills are required for reports. Specific skills in Meridium to maintain Inspection Database and analyze condition monitoring data. Planning and Organizing:Uses resources and work flows to perform on-stream inspection, shutdown planning and sets priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to work on numerous projects at one time and uses a sense of urgency to close technical issues. Communication:Credibility demonstrated with clear, concise and accurate expression of facts, both in writing and orally. Safety:Actively participates in or has led Safety Programs.
