Plant Operator - smart, mechanically inclined & hard working

 

We are a growing company and a recognized leader in the management of bio-solids.  Our incinerator facility in New Haven, CT seeks a Plant Operator who is smart, dependable, hard working, mechanically inclined, and has a great work ethic.

 

Plant Operators are responsible for operating, monitoring, documenting, and maintaining heavy industrial dewatering and incineration equipment in a safe and effective manner.  Operators rotate jobs in order to learn and become proficient in operating and maintaining all equipment.  This 24 x 7 facility requires some weekends and periodic mandatory overtime. 

 

 

This position requiresAt least one year of hand-on experience in wastewater treatment or a similar heavy industrial process environment.A dependable, safety conscious individual with a strong work ethic and excellent technical/mechanical abilities.The ability to monitor and operate equipment manually and through computer screens. Good recordkeeping and strong communication skills.The ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards, apply sound judgment, and work in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision. Strong mechanical, math and problem solving skills.  The ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair on mechanical equipment as well as housekeeping as needed.Periodically mandatory shift coverage and/or overtime in addition to your scheduled shift
