Global top-ranking consulting firm seeks an experienced Power / Electric consultant with advanced degree in economics to join and compliment their international Energy team.Position Overview:Our client, a top-ranked international consulting firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Power / Electric-industry expert to compliment their international Energy Markets team.  This organization has clientele which fully comprise the public and private sectors globally; to include governmental bodies.  This Consultant role will apply subject-matter expertise to Power / Electric- and energy-related issues – such as such as Policy, Regulation, M&A, Auctions, Restructuring, Risk Management, Product Positioning, etc –  and be responsible for applying theoretical and empirical economic and industry analysis including statistical, econometric and economic theory related to such matters; oversight of modeling and other project methods; production of papers, presentations, and other media; client development and presenting; and associated staff management for multiple satellite-projects around the world. Please note, periodic travel to Europe and possibly other global destinations may be required as-needed; dependent on project-work. Requirements: Several years of real associated experience within Power / Electric arena; depth of cross-functional experience as to how such comprehensive issues impact Energy markets preferred.  Demonstrated ability to fulfill the above-mentioned role requirements as they relate to research, analysis, application, and associated collateral deliverables required. Advanced degree in economics, or direct equivalent, is required.  PhD highly preferred, but it needn’t be in Economics; environmental or public policy, or similar, acceptable. For ‘pure’ academics with no prior consulting firm background, a very strong academic record, job market paper, and exceptional and comprehensive display of analytical and communication skills must be evident in published works/papers. A list of published/authored works – needn’t be sole-author – is required for all applicants. The ability to work well within teams – particularly those internationally dispersed – is important Must be experienced managing staff and organizing multiple projects Must be able to travel.
