Principal Software Engineer

- Lead day-to-day activities associated with a large scale software development project.- Interface with other software engineers and product end users to achieve program results.- Design, structure, and schedule development of software.- Testing and field implementation of software.- 20% or less travel is required to perform the duties of the position.- Site access at utility sites may be required.* Fluent in Java (primarily desktop apps, e.g. SWING, SWT, AWT) software coding, and code testing is a requirement!* Trained in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is a must.*Familiarity with the United Process, UML, modeling required.* Familiarity with HTML, XML, XSLT, Web applications (JSP, servlets) required.* Familiarity with Java extensions (JDBC, Hibernate, JMS, JNDI, Java Beans, etc.) a plus.* Familiarity with database design and SQL a plus.* Familiarity wtih C++, Microsoft Windows Visula Studio .NET, and Visual Basic a plus.* A pragmatic approach to coding implemention is a must.* Acts as a program lead for software development project.
