Principle Engineer, WPA
We are a leading worldwide Electric Company that provides fuel, services, technology, plant design, and equipment for the commercial nuclear electric power industry. We are currently looking for aPrincipal Engineer that has experience in feedwater heaters and condensers in a power plant setting.
Job Responsibilities:
The principal engineer will be responsible for technical activities for heat exchangers, feedwater heaters, and condensers on the balance of plant (BOP) side of power plants. The principal engineer will be responsible for interface with designers and fabricators, and evaluating technical alternatives to meet the customer’s requirements and improve the performance of the heat exchanger. The principal engineer will also develop business and strategic plans for the BOP heat exchanger product line, identify opportunities, and lead offer preparation to capture key contracts.
Specific Desired Skills:
The principal engineer must have experience with the design, fabrication, and operation of heat exchangers on the balance of plant (BOP) side of nuclear plants, specifically: feedwater heaters, condensers, and moisture separator reheaters.
The principal engineer should also be experienced in thermal performance analysis and sizing of the heat exchangers to meet the customer’s requirements and maximize overall plant performance. The successful candidate should also have an understanding of the overall market for these components.
Experience with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII and other appropriate sections, the Heat Exchange Institute standards, and the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturer’s Association (TEMA) standards is required.
A registered professional engineer (PE) certification is desired, but not required.
Degrees or Certificates:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Other Information:
10+ years of experience required
Occasional travel, both domestic and international, to customer and vendor facil
ities is required.
