Production Manager

Our company is currently looking for a Production Manager for our boiler fabrication shop located in Lancaster, SC (about 30 miles south of Charlotte, NC). You need 5-10+ years of experience in a boiler fabrication shop and at least 3 years experience as a Supervisor or Manager working on the production floor for a boiler manufacturer (Alstom, Babcock, Foster Wheeler, Nebraska Boiler, etc...). If you are currently not a Production Manager for a boiler manufacturer, you need to be a Supervisor who is ready to take the next step up to Production Manager. You will be responsible for managing the shop work flow and the production workers (welders, technicians, fabricators, etc...). You will be responsible for developing and/or reviewing standards, policies, and procedures for all functions related to production. You will work closely with the Shop Foreman as well as the Quality, Logistics, and Customer Service departments. You will be expected to coordinate & prioritize work through shop routers to meet schedules and to implement cost reduction programs. You must have technical knowledge of pressure parts, fabrication, welding, the ability to analyze data, and an understanding of basic commercial terms. You should have an understanding of the ASME codes associated with pressure parts. Any Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience would be a plus. A BS degree in Engineering would be a plus.
