Production Support Systems Analyst

Provide technical support of Midwest ISO energy applications, data and interfaces. Participate in application development and enhancement projects and initiatives in collaboration with Operations, Engineering and other IT technical disciplines. Work within a dynamic team environment with highly specialized individuals responsible and accountable for the development, testing, integration, and support of critical Midwest ISO operations systems. • Provide production support of energy applications demonstrating effective troubleshooting skills, ability to manage emergencies, and application of Root Cause analysis techniques including after hours on-call support. • Analyze and recommend solutions for proposed fixes or changes to energy market applications including performance and reliability issues. • Utilize best practice guidelines and processes for the successful testing, integration, deployment and support of application fixes, enhancements and new applications. • Work closely with Operations and Engineering staff to meet their operational requirements through vendor solutions and in-house developed software. • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering staff to define system requirements and work with vendors or internal developers to ensure requirements are achieved through the use of best practice design, develop, testing and validation processes. • Effectively utilize internal Change Management, SDLC and internal control processes. • Work with Operations and Engineering to align technical solutions with business and operations functions and objectives. • Demonstrate a willingness to work in a dynamic team environment to complete assignments in a thorough manner while working towards the success of team members. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related work experience. Experience: • Two to four years of IT production support and development technical experience. • Previous experience supporting a major vendor application is desirable. Knowledge: • Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues.
