Project Engineer - Electric Transmission Projects

Central Business District Projects – Substations and Underground Cables

Base pay ~$100K with full benefits, OT and an annual bonus.

A permanent Project Engineering position in the Midwest with a firm engaged in the engineering and construction of underground T&D projects in a large central business district.







RESPONSIBILITY: Providing engineering direction for the project and develop design review milestones. Provide Engineering scope for projects in various stages of design. Assist the Project Managers in the preparation of Project Execution Plans and Challenge Packages. Act as the technical point of contact for project personnel. Work with the customer’s permit department. Ensure compliance to engineering standards, codes, regulatory commitments and specifications for completion of work. Assist Project Schedulers in development and maintenance of Primavera schedules. Participate in field walk downs of proposed projects as the Engineering Representative Provide comprehensive engineering status and review of technical issues at status meetings. Provide technical support to construction, including timely approval of field changes. Develop and manager project QA/QC programs for engineering work. Provide input to the monthly reports. Expedite process and track Requests for Information (RFI). Ensure that engineering construction plans and specifications are current and properly distributed under the Document Control procedure. Prepare a weekly report. Provide support to construction coordinators. 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: A four-year Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.  Significant experience in electric T&D underground work. Experience in developing related documents including RFPs, Change Orders, RFIs and Bids etc. Experience in cost control approaches.  Must have excellent PC skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SureTrack/P3.
