Position Description:Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, and conducting business in approximately 180 countries, the company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. Chevron North America Exploration and Production (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for the position of Asset Integrity and Tank Reliability Project Manager located in Bakersfield, CA.Overview:The Asset Integrity and Tank Reliability Project Manager supports upstream oilfield development and existing operations in the San Joaquin Valley Strategic Business Unit (SJVBU). The fields operated include both heavy oil and light oil and are produced with thermal recovery and water flood recovery methods. The assets are managed out of offices at various locations throughout the San Joaquin Valley. The Asset Integrity Program is responsible for implementing a Risk Based Inspection Program to manage fixed equipment mechanical integrity including pipelines, tanks, and pressure vessels. The Tank Reliability Project is a major project to upgrade and enhance spill protection measures on high and medium risk tanks. These programs are a key component of the Environmental Stewardship and Reliability efforts in the SJVBU. Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:Tank Project Management: • Responsible for evaluation, design, construction, and commissioning of Tank Upgrade Projects. • This will include operational knowledge of Upstream Oil, Gas and Water treating systems including understanding of Safety Codes and Regulations. • Extensive field analysis and review of facilities is required. • Upgrading tank performance includes but is not limited to piping modifications, automation controls, alarms, diversion techniques, coating applications, adding excess capacity for potential spills, and pump upgrades. • Manage 3rd party Engineering firms for detailed design packages. • Develop and manage an execution plan during construction.Asset Integrity Program Development: • Develop and implement an Asset Integrity Program for fixed equipment including pipelines, tanks, and pressure vessels. • Work with cross functional teams to develop procedures and key performance indicators to implement the program. • Program should streamline the mechanical inspection process, estimate retirement due for fixed equipment, address at risk situations, and manage regulatory documentation. • Manage and direct 3rd party contractor for scoping and oversight of program. Required (Basic) Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering.• Minimum five years related experience required.• Application of phase-gated Project Management principles, processes, and tools is required.• Practices open, honest, multidirectional & effective communication. • Contributes toward building an inclusive work environment.• Ability to work effectively in cross functional (operations, maintenance, management, engineering,) teams. • Ability to plan, share and delegate responsibilities with other team members • Effective written and verbal communication skills within the team, including presentation skills.• Travel to various field locations, consultant offices and vendor fabrication facilities required. • Work location may be field based. • Future mobility to support Chevron worldwide operations is desirable.Relocation Options:• Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-CA-Bakersfield Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
