Project Manager - Wisconsin

Education Required:  BS or MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical or similar technical scope.  Professional engineering registration (EIT or PE) is highly preferred.  Project Management Profession (PMP) Certification is required or must be acquired within one year of commencing employment.

 

Experience Required:  10 – 15 years, with at least 10 of those years with nuclear power (plant) experience to include design engineering, project management and client relations.  Experience with operating plant procedures, processes and nuclear plant licensing is required.

 

Other Qualifications:  All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Experience in the nuclear power industry is required with actual field experience on nuclear plant projects a plus.  Travel to the plant locations is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required with competency in software applications for email and databases.  Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques required. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, processes as well as those financial obligations that would apply to projects.

 

Position Synopsis:  Position dictates applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the management of assigned projects while making independent decisions.  Individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining close working relationships with client to include professional and social interaction with key home office and site individuals. This position requires individual to be a liaison between client and company.

Successful candidate will coordinate the preparation of proposals for client work by working with Discipline Engineering Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing. Key activities are monitoring the status of all on-going projects to include budget, schedule, scope changes, and deliverables, participation in company weekly schedule meeting and preparation of monthly status reports.  Additionally, responsible for understanding and communicating to company staff, client’s processes and procedures, and facilitates training of company staff, when needed. The selected candidate will ensure that contractual requirements are met, addresses and resolves contractual issues, initiates contract changes, and facilitates payment for services.

Position includes obtaining client feedback regarding work performance and facilitates implementation of process improvements, as appropriate. Also, individual will work with client to address and resolve issues that may develop relative to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
