Quality Engineer

QUALITY ENGINEER:

 SUMMARY-  Provide quality control and engineering support for  aspects of vendor surveillance, product inspection at vendor sites, and vendor surveillance.  Provide field fleet support to operating sites, and assist in fleet reliability initiatives including but not limited to root cause analyses, development and implementation of counter-measures. 

QUALIFICATION- Seeking a quality engineer with 6-10 years of productive experience preferably in wind energy related, or manufacturing environment. The right candidate should possess a proven track record of problem resolution, have a thorough understanding of quality tools applicable to process improvement.  Further qualifications include knowledge of ISO standards, leadership skills to lead quality initiatives, ability to conduct audit at construction sites. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft office is a must.   CWI, CQA & CQE certifications are highly desirable.  Qualified candidates must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.  Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the degree.

 

ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- The main responsibilities for this position include:

-  Lead MRB activities for all field reported quality issues, perform data analysis, identify trends, conduct C/A, and generate reports.

-  Conduct ISO 2000 based internal and field audits, generate reports and close open quality issues.

-  Conduct supplier survey, qualification, surveillance audit throughout the U.S and oversees.

-  Conduct wind tower first article and source inspection at different suppliers.

-  Lead supplier improvement program, and participate in supplier selection.

-  Conduct process mapping, write procedures in compliance with ISO requirements.

-  Maintain a well organized document control/archival system for project quality documents.

-  Create and reports on Metrics, perform other quality and/or fleet support activities as required.
