Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of a Reactor Design Engineer located in Richmond, California.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:•Designer of hydroprocessing reactors and other pressure vessels. Demonstrate a high level of competence in mechanical and structural design and calculations. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of ASME pressure vessel code and company standards.•Responsible for completion of reactor design packages. Includes developing designs, manual and computer calculations, meeting company and ASME code requirements. Provide detailed drawings of hydroprocessing reactors including internals. Skill at use of AutoCAD including drafting to scale is essential for this position.•Provide guidance to clients, fabricators, contractors and others on appropriate application of company standards and practices with regard to hydroprocessing reactors and other pressure vessels. Provide telephone or field consultation as needed. Some field inspections are required which includes confined space entry into reactors.•Take initiative to improve and maintain company standards and practices for reactors and other pressure vessels.•Participate in project meetings which can include visits to fabricators, contractor offices or other client locations. •Apply technology in ways that will improve the quality of our designs. Seek and develop tools that will improve productivity of the work group.•Resolve field or client issues related to hydroprocessing reactors and other pressure vessels.Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Reactor/Pressure Vessel Design Experience - Has experience with mechanical designs of hydroprocessing reactors and other pressure vessels. Demonstrated high level of competence in mechanical and structural design and calculations. • Pressure Vessel Codes And Standards Knowledge - Thorough knowledge of ASME pressure vessel code and Chevron company standards. • AutoCAD Ability - Demonstrated ability to use AutoCAD to provide detailed drawings of hydroprocessing reactors including internals. Skill at use of AutoCAD including drafting to scale.• Interpersonal Skills - Must work constructively with others (inside and outside Chevron) to achieve positive results via the Chevron Way. Must act with integrity and honesty, accept constructive criticism well, and use recognition. Teamwork skills a must. • Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with clients to effectively represent Technology Marketing in a positive light to outside companies. Ability to communicate well with teammates and managers during project and tech service work required. • Organizational Skills - Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple work activities to meet customer needs and expectations required. Must be able to interact with a variety of experience levels and position types. • Field Inspection Experience - Experience providing guidance to clients, fabricators, contractors and others on appropriate application of company standards and practices with regard to hydroprocessing reactors and other pressure vessels. Willingness to provide telephone or field consultation as needed. Some field inspections are required which includes confined space entry into reactors. •Experience in pressure vessel design and a working knowledge of ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes required.
