Resource Planning Scheduler with Primavera & Project Controls Expereince
Role & Scope of Position
Engineeing Resource Planning & Scheduling Supervisor is a lead role within the organization
responsible for scheduling and integrating all preconstruction activities related to Substation, Transmission and/or Distribution Capital, Maintenance, and Reliability Projects into NSTAR¿s
Centralized Master Schedule. Additional responsibilities include overall data integrity,
adherence to scheduling standards, detailed and in-depth analysis, reporting (scorecards),
forecasting of resource requirements and expenditures, overall optimization of engineering
resource utilization and scheduling process improvements.
Essential Functions
- Develops, maintains, and communicates integrated schedule of all required engineering
deliverables in support of capital, maintenance, and reliability projects.
- Schedules all activities in support of planning and development, engineering and design, and pre-construction, including external permits and approvals as necessary, to drive cost effective project completion.
- Builds consensus and fosters an environment of teamwork, creativity and problem solving.
Shares information and encourages participation in the decision making process. Removes
obstacles through effective communication with other areas.
- Oversees engineering planning/scheduling process including; preparation and prioritization
of work plans and schedules, resource and materials requirements and forecasts.
- Identifies, develops and implements work process and practices improvements.
Qualifications
- Must possess expert level project and scheduling management skills, including knowledge of
Primavera 5.0 or better.
- Knowledge of Construction Principles, Operations, Maintenance, and Practices, safety standards and business processes. Working knowledge of labor contracts (preferred).
- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Requires a Bachelor¿s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years in scheduling and project controls experience, plus three (3) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees; OR
Associate¿s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline, and a
minimum of 5 years in scheduling and project controls experience, plus five (5) years
of experience in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design and/or installation,
servicing customers, and supervising employees; OR
minimum of 7 years in scheduling and project controls experience, and seven (7)
years in Transmission, Distribution, and/or Field Service design and/or installation,
servicing customers and supervising employees.
