Revenue Accountant Supervisor

McMoRan Exploration Co. (NYSE:  MMR) is an independent public company engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and onshore in the Gulf Coast area.  Due to our growth in the Gulf of Mexico, McMoRan has an immediate opening for an experienced Revenue Accountant in our Houston Greenspoint office. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Preparation of sales distributions, including verification of sales volume, pricing and other contractual terms, preparation of monthly invoices and disbursement of cash to applicable owners Analysis and collection of revenue receivables including resolution of problem issues. Analysis of MMS regulations, preparation of monthly MMS reporting and reconciliation of MMS account.  Preparation of MMS transportation allowances where applicable. PetroComp system revenue module maintenance and administration Monitor production imbalances with purchasers and pipelines. (Includes preparation of balancing statements.) Preparation and recordation of monthly revenue accruals. Analysis of revenue and other general ledger account balances. Preparation of support schedules for external and internal audit. Coordination with auditors on their review. Preparation of monthly operating reports on revenue related activity. Streamlining, simplifying, and documenting Accounting procedures. Special projects, primarily in response to senior management requests. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting. Individual must have at least 15 years experience in Oil and Gas Revenue Accounting. 5 years supervisor experience needed Offshore operating properties experience a plus. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Availability for overtime. Self-confidence, maturity, and strong interpersonal skills.  The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks using sound business judgment. A self-starter with the desire to accept increasing responsibility.  Hardworking and results-oriented.
