The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Power Systems Instructor position located in Pullman, WA. Power Systems Instructor Responsibilities: Define and develop technical course curriculum with input from the Curriculum Advisory Board. Plan and lead technical course development activities for SEL U. Consult with customers to develop long-term training plans that meet customer needs. Lead projects to develop customer training and course materials while meeting cost, schedule, performance, and quality goals. Participate as instructor in technical courses. Apply new learning technologies and processes to training project development and training delivery. Provide input into the strategic management of SEL University and initiate supportive actions. Evaluate course results and effectiveness and improve courses based on the data. Create, follow and improve applicable processes. Actively model SEL values and culture of quality and excellence. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering Minimum five years relevant experience with electrical power systems or industrial systems practices Detailed knowledge of electrical power system protection Working knowledge of system automation Familiarity in applying SEL protective relays to utility and/or industrial power systems Ability to work independently, accepting complete ownership of assigned responsibilities Proven ability in project management and leading technical training programs Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills Willingness to travel in order to serve as an instructor of SEL U courses Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Preferred Qualifications: Electric utility, consulting or system integrator experience An Award Winning CompanySchweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
