SPECIAL PROJECTS MANAGER

The Public Works Commission of the City of Fayetteville is seeking an individual to provide information, studies, operational analysis and recommendations to the CEO, Executive Management and Board members on topics that support PWC goals and objectives.  Individual will be responsible for the developmental and implementation phases of many assignments, to include, expanding concepts/ideas;  developing a written evaluation and action plan; performing detailed analysis and evaluation; making formal presentations; leading internal project teams; conducting/coordinating the analysis of any functional/operational issue; assisting the CEO in the development of strategies to support PWC initiatives; organizing, planning and communicating information/data across a diverse group of constituents; establishing a measurement plan and evaluation criteria.  Individual must have thorough knowledge of operational management concepts and good knowledge of computer applications.  Candidate must possess a high level of integrity; strong influence, collaboration and organization skills; be able to research, organize and prioritize work across an entire organization; must be self-managed and team oriented. Successful candidate must possess outstanding/proven interpersonal skills and have the ability to negotiate with team players to achieve results.  

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited four (4) year university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred); and a minimum of (10) years of progressively responsible experience in Industrial/Management Engineering or operational analysis type work including at least five (5) years of supervisory experience.

 

Special Requirement:  Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License at the time of selection into position.
