Title - Database Administrator II
Department - Intelligence (Energy Group)
Reports to - Director of Microsoft Services

Duties:

Person should have 5+ years experience with Microsoft technologies.  Should be proficient with SQL Server 2005/2000/7.0.  This person will be supporting a business unit that utilizes SQL Server as a data store for their shipping and hosted products.  The Front End applications are written in C#, ASP, VB, and some SQL back-end.  Source data comes from an Oracle database.

Essential Skills:
Primary functions include the installation, configuration, and administration of database software.  Tier 2 support for customer based installs may be needed. Activities may include designing logical and physical databases, reviewing database design changes and assessing impact of changes, calculating optimum database parameters, designing indices, monitoring database performance, performance tuning, establishing and administering database security, and modeling data. Provide business analyst support on table designs, functions & custom stored procedures. Provide developer support on batch data update process and workflow. Monitoring critical processes 24x7 which requires in-depth technical and functional knowledge of both the Applications environment and business/process flow. DBA's will acquire and demonstrate skill in the use of MSSQL 7 and 2000, MSSQL Enterprise manager, performance monitoring and security management tools.  Specialized areas may require knowledge of Transact SQL, ANSI SQL Knowledge of Windows operating systems administration is also beneficial
