General Description

Plan, develop and implement safety training programs.  Conduct training and development for employees.  Deliver classroom and hands-on training in accordance with the overall training program.  Must be able to work and train employees at heights (tower climbing and rescue training).

 Essential Job Functions

·  Plan, organize, and direct curriculum on safety as it relates to the wind industry. 

·  Conduct orientation sessions and on-the-job-training for new hires.

·  Confer with management to identify training needs based on projected processes, changes, and other factors.

·  Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

·  Verify that safety equipment is available to employees, and monitor their use of such equipment to ensure proper fit and condition of equipment.

·  Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.

·  Must be able to work and train at heights (tower climbing and rescue training).

 Work Experience Requirements

·  Equivalent combination of education experience and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

·  Knowledge of functions of wind turbine technicians and the types of tools and equipment used.

·  Ability to communicate, teach, and demonstrate the operations of the equipment used.

·  Must certify to all trainer certification programs.

 Education Requirements

·  Graduate from an accredited two-year college or university with a degree in a related field, preferred.
