Senior Civil/Mechanical Engineer Power
Requires Bachelors degree in Engineering (applicable engineering specific to area of assignment) plus two (2) years working experience. Must possess working knowledge of operating and engineering practices, safety rules, company policies, applicable codes, standards and methods in the area of discipline and or assignment. May require experience in design, operations or planning of distribution systems, understanding of company resource utilization and computer models used in resource use simulation, probability and economics, excellent technical and analytical skills, working knowledge of transmission systems essential and/or extensive knowledge of excel and other databases used for graphs and charts. Hands on knowledge and experience in power plant equipment desired.
Responsibilities
Client has opportunities for level II Engineers. Performs engineering design, modifications, economic and analytical support to prepare engineering programs, evaluate resource alternatives and various business arrangements and/or provide price and/or load consumption analysis for one or more of the following disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical for the development of a long-range system plans to ensure the most economic transmission system for the Company and to anticipate and satisfy customer needs. Ensures the reliability and safe operation of electrical system by analyzing load and reliability data. Proposes economical solutions to be budgeted. Subject to shift work. May be responsible for project leadership of simple to simple-complex designs for construction, location and relocation of company facilities for new and existing external customers, state and local governments and internal company engineering, planning and maintenance processes. Plans, designs, schedules, coordinates and ensures completion of all facets of the project, from initiation through construction close out. May perform transmission analyses and generation pricing studies to support the direct access sales and marketing plans and to support marketers in making sales of electricity in competitive markets. Work is performed with general guidance, specific engineering design, modifications, and technical assistance.
