Senior Controls Engineer

Westinghouse Repair, Replacement and Automation Services group seeks multiple Senior Engineers in our Monroeville, PA facility to support the AP1000 projects. Repair, Replacement and Automation Services work on projects to enhance plant safety and reliability by providing the instrumentation and control, pumps and motors, and electro-mechanical products and services that our customers require. RRAS maintains existing systems, implements replacement programs, performs I&C asset management, and provides I&C for new plantsDCIS Controls EngineerJob Responsibilities- Provide engineering and technical support in the design, development, implementation and testing of process control solutions for commercial nuclear power plants based on the Emerson Ovation DCS platform. - Specific duties include: -development of control strategies -specification of DCS hardware configuration -design and configuration of application software -specification and execution of test procedures -interface with suppliers and customers with regards to the technical scope of the work.Specific Desired Skills- BS in Engineering - 5 to 10 years of experience in providing DCS and or PLC based automation and industrial control solutions to the power generation or similar industries.- Experience specifying/designing control system hardware and software, instrumentation, and computer/network systems.- Knowledge and experience with relational databases.- Windows operating system experience and application software development.- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.- Effective organization skills.- Excellent written and oral communication skills.- Experience in interpreting and writing specifications.- Ability to succeed in a team environment.- Ability to apply basic theory to practical business problems and/or to provide technical guidance/supervise others.- Ability to set individual priorities and manage conflicting schedules.Major Focus of Position: Perform moderately complex to complex engineering design, evaluations, and analyses of technical products and services within the specified discipline for this position.Required Skills:*Sufficient experience within engineering discipline to perform design, analysis, and evaluations of technical products and services and to identify problems and propose operational solutions as the need arises during projects and tasks.*Determine and ensure that the proper controls for a given task are in place and that supporting evaluations and analyses are documented.*Verify engineering work of, and provide technical guidance, training, and direction to others at equivalent or lesser levels and communicate to all necessary parities the nature and status of work/projects; identify and communicate product/service improvements to management.*Lead and participate on project teams.*Propose and initiate test programs as needed and evaluate results.*Prepare technical descriptions/sections, including cost benefit studies, for proposals and various documents.*Identify and assist in development of new business opportunities.Experience Requirements:*Typically 5 to 10 yearsTravel Requirements:*Candidate may be required to travel to domestic and international sites.
