Senior Cost Estimator

Job Description

 

· Prepare accurate and timely estimates for capital expansion, maintenance, and reimbursable projects to support the needs of internal customers (Estimate range $100K – $500M).

· Typical projects involve onshore/offshore pipelines, compressor stations, storage facilities, measuring stations and associated mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil facilities. 

· Obtain quotations for material and contractor construction costs. 

· Prepare project estimates for both direct and indirect costs.

· Develop and update feasibility tables based on historical data.

· Update and maintain cost estimating database for contract labor and materials costs.

· Prepare material take-offs from P&ID drawings or sketches and plotted quadrangles as necessary to develop the estimate.

· Prepare cost exhibits for FERC filing.

· Develop and update cost estimating modules in estimating software.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

 

· Five (5) years of estimating or related work experience in the design or construction of natural gas pipelines.

· Demonstrated proficiency working with office computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Excel.

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

· Bachelor’s degree in a technically related field.

· Previous experience managing estimating software applications including maintaining databases.

· Demonstrated ability to write in a clear, concise, and organized manner using correct grammar. 

· Demonstrated excellent human relations, influencing, and listening skills to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize work in a timely manner. 

· Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion.

· Demonstrated ability of multi- tasking numerous projects at once and working within deadlines.

· Strong customer service and organizational skills.

· Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 

· Team player.
