Senior Engineer - Piping Analyst

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Piping Analyst in our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit. Our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit, based out of our corporate headquarters in Monroeville, PA, specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide. It is within this Business Unit that developed the AP1000 design, the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available in the worldwide commercial market place.

In this position, a Piping Analyst can expect to:

- Perform evaluation and qualification of complex piping systems and related components for ASME Section III Class 1, 2, and 3, and B31.1 piping systems.
- Perform static, dynamic, and time-history analyses
- Confirm applicability to AP1000 procedures
- Confirm locations, type, orientation, and spatial requirements for piping supports
- Assure proper interface between piping systems and structural modules
- Perform load conformance for piping system components
- Prepare initial support conceptual designs

A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:

• Bachelor's (or Masters) Mechanical or Civil Structural engineering
• 3-10 years piping analysis work experience (Nuclear industry would be preferred) or equivalent.
• Several years experience with the design, analysis, and qualification of ASME Safety Class piping.
• Several years experience with PipeStress or PePS or equivalent pipe modeling and analysis software package.
• Experience with dynamic analyses (spectra and/or time history dynamic analyses)
• Experience with B31.1 "spacing table" qualification would be a plus.
• Experience writing desktop procedures and instruction manuals would be a plus.
