ACCIONA Energía, through ACCIONA Windpower, designs and produces wind turbine generators using in-house technology based on its experience as the largest wind energy developer in the world. The AW-1500 turbine was designed from the perspective of the windpark owner and since its introduction in 2002, has manufactured and installed over 600 AW-1500 wind turbine generators worldwide.

Based in the West Branch, Iowa manufacturing facility, Acciona Windpower North America seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineering.  Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, this person will work on workcenter layouts, flow diagrams, Process development and documentation, and capital expenditure justification.

 

Responsibilities:Provide technical and process leadership in resolving manufacturing problems ranging from documentation management to yield improvement initiatives for complex mechanical and electronic sub-assembliesResponsible for directing the flow of material and utilization of labor to ensure adequate production and required quality requirements for manufacturing are met at least total cost. Development of new manufacturing processes, and product or systems technology to meet the company’s goals. Support manufacturing safety to provide an adequate and safe working environment.Leads / Directs Facilities and Grounds Maintenance, Modification, and ExpansionManage the company’s Lean Manufacturing initiatives and reporting on the program’s effectiveness.Liaison with our R&D/ME team in Spain regarding design changes/manufacturing issues. Participate in component source selection. Designing and developing logistic support methods.Set up paperless drawing/documentation system. (ECOs, WIs, etc.)Generate and present periodic reports to the senior management team.

Requirements:Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Industrial Management, Manufacturing Management, Engineering, or Business Administration required. Masters Degree preferred 7 to 10 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, minimum of 3 in a Management position.Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or APICS Certified preferredWorking knowledge of ERP systems preferredAbility to understand and use financial reports as a management tool.Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public.Demonstrated ability to manage several activities / projects at once, to organize / prioritize work, to meet deadlines and to prepare plans and budgets.Ability to delegate, organize, work under pressure, motivate personnel, demonstrate leadership and initiative Ability to overcome obstacles and encounter the unexpected and continue moving forward.
