Higgott-Kane is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Specialist in the Engineering Group, located in the Portland area, Maine.
The Senior Manufacturing Specialist’s duties include quality assurance inspection of gas turbine systems fabrication, development of shop manufacturing plans, fabrication training, field inspections, and troubleshooting of operating systems. The candidate should have the following skills and experiences:
(1)a minimum of 10 years experience in metal fabrication, steel plate, structural steel, and stainless steels for thermal cycling systems,
(2) ability to read and thoroughly understand technical and fabrication drawings,
(3) ability to plan and organize work flow through a shop,
(4) develop productivity improvement concepts, value engineering,
(5) train and provide instructions to skilled and non-skilled workers in union or non-union environments,
(6) liason with workers and management in sub-contractor facilities,
(7) ability to troubleshoot thermally stressed components, seals, and mechanical systems,
(8) reliable and good communicator,
(9) provide concise verbal and written progress reports,
(10) ability to travel and work in safe project locations throughout the world,
(11) experience in the gas turbine industry would be an asset,
(12) ability to speak other languages would be considered an asset but not required, and
(13) Certified Welding Inspector would be an asset but not required.
