Senior Marketing Engineer

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Senior Marketing Engineer for its headquarters in Monroeville, PA. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Prepare technical proposals, including definition of scope and commercial terms, which are responsive to detailed customer bid specifications. Identify and coordinate resolution of non-standard technical, commercial and contract issues. Interact with customers to clarify bid specification requirements as needed and participate in technical and commercial aspects of customer proposal negotiations.Prepare or lead customer development activities. Develop, implement, and coordinate market/sales plans between related products to maintain consistency. Convince various internal groups with diverse priorities and needs to cooperate in responding to customer needs; includes obtaining product line/engineerings commitment on program scope, delivery schedule, and budget.Perform calculations to determine product value and market price levels. Evaluate cost estimates and special commercial issues (cash flow, currency exchange, escalation, etc.). Recommend value-based prices and associated profit levels to management for approval.Plan, coordinate, and give multi-product technical and commercial presentations to customer decision makers. Develop good working relationships with key customer personnel through frequent contact with customer engineering and purchasing professionals and management. Utilize relationships to obtain advance information on customer needs and influence selections of solutions to these needs.Develop technical sales literature and material. Prepare technical articles for publication in industry trade journals. Participate in trade shows and customer seminars.Participate in development of product upgrades/evolutions and recommend product improvements. Define customer and market needs, review technical adequacy, recommend market strategies, and prepare initial offerings. Sell products and services by persuading customer engineering and purchasing personnel of technical adequacy and cost effectiveness of recommended products and services.*Obtain and maintain marketplace intelligence and data; perform market and competitor analysis for assigned product lines and make appropriate recommendations.Perform basic business, investment, and risk analyses.Provide commercial and technical inputs for strategic, financial, and market plans and for forecasts of orders and sales.Present recommendations to management and obtain approval on value-based and marketing strategies.A successful candidate will possess and/or have knowledge of:A Bachelors degree in Engineering or other technical discipline2-6 years of relevant work experience Westinghouse technology is the basis for nearly half of the world's nuclear power plants.
