Senior Project Manager: NDE - Nuclear #216

Are you looking for a position with the potential for growth with a company whose work impacts the well being and future of our environment?  Provide project management and technical leadership support for new and on going Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) NDE Center projects in the areas of performance demonstration. In recent years, through the code of federal regulations the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has mandated the performance demonstration of procedures and personnel that perform examinations on safety related components in nuclear power plants. Similar requirements have also been developed in other countries around the world, which has increased the need for efficient cost effective methods to perform these demonstrations while still maintaining a strong technical basis to support the demonstrations. Initially, these demonstrations were only required for ultrasonic examination of the piping and the reactor pressure vessel, but recently performance demonstration requirements are being included for the examination of other components through out the plant. Job Functions:Provide procedure and personnel qualification oversight including the management of complex demonstration activities, but in Charlotte and at customer facilitiesManage and assist in technique and procedure development activitiesDevelop and document technical positions to support demonstrationsCoordinate and manage large specimen fabrication projectsAnalysis and documentation of automated dataTechnical report writingIdeal Candidate:Candidate must be certifiable to at least level 3 in ultrasonic testing with at least 10 years experience in nuclear plant inspection activitiesExperience with performance demonstration processes either in US or internationally a plusExperience with both visual and eddy current testing considered a plusStrong technical writing and oral communication skillsCapable of developing technical justifications to support inspection applicationsExperience in writing detailed inspection procedures that have gone through performance demonstrationsWorking knowledge of automated examination systems Proficient with the use of automated ultrasonic data analysis software packages Project management background necessarySolid time management skillsExperience in examination procedure writingUnderstanding of ASME Section XI required Candidate must be proficient with MS Office productsExperience with automated ultrasonic testing and Phased Array techniques desirableAutoCAD and website experience a plus EPRI’s Export Control Statement:
