Senior Project Services Coordinator

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

This position is the Client Project Controls representative in the Arcadia, California office providing day-to-day oversight of contractors project controls systems.  The position reports to the Anchorage-based Project Services Team Lead but also supports the resident Client staff in Arcadia.  The position is responsible for ensuring that the engineering contractor is following their internal procedures and is meeting the client requirements for project controls.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of Turner & Townsend’s team working within a client’s environment, the individual should be able to demonstrate:

·  Implement WRD Project Cost and Schedule Control strategy, plans, and procedures.

·  Provide early identification of trends and performance issues so that corrective action can be taken.

·  Coordinate development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/ Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) in concert with Project Leads and Project Planning/Scheduling Lead.

·  Review and audit contractor estimates and control budgets consistent with project WBS/CBS.  Coordinate review and approval of estimates by Project Leads and other Client reviewers.  Ensure cost reporting and forecasting is consistent with the control budget.

·  Review and audit contractor cost control procedures and practices to assure quality and timely delivery of analysis and reports including forecasts.

·  Review and audit contractor schedule control procedures and practices (Primavera, Marian, and Scorecard) to assure plans are complete, logical, and up to date, and are being used by the contractor to manage activities.  Work with the Project Planning/Scheduling Lead to integrate contractor schedules into the Master Control Schedule.

·  Review and audit Client and contractor project Management of Change procedures and practices to assure changes are identified, evaluated, and approved in a timely manner.

·  Coordinate Client approval of budget changes and Project Authorizations.

·  Review contractor progress reports prior to issue.  Review contractor invoices prior to submission.

·  Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders and material deliveries.   Work with Client Financial Control and Accounting to ensure processes implemented conform to Internal Control Evaluation requirements.

·  Perform special studies and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered for the role of Senior Project Services Coordinator applicants must have:

·  Strong analytical, coaching, and communications skills.

·  Background in or knowledge of estimating, cost control, and scheduling disciplines.

·  Ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfil the responsibilities of this position.

·  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

·  A minimum of 10 years of project controls or project management experience.

·  Strong experience with project management systems and tools.

·  The ability to independently organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.

·  The ability to recognize and solve problems.
