JANA, an industry leader in technical documentation services is currently seeking a senior level engineering writer for support of an existing client in Southern California. This position requires the selected individual to work onsite full time at the client, and represent JANA in its efforts.

 

If you have a significant history of engineering level documentation with a strong background in the Aerospace/Mechanical industries, and are willing to be a focal point of contact representing JANA and over 35 years of successful technical documentation history, we would love to hear from you.

 

 

Duties:

 

1.  Responsible for the coordination for development and production of all engineering documentation for new projects.

2.  Interface directly with SME community to gather information, attend technical reviews, and coordinate release schedules of documentation concurrent with project release schedules.

3.  Gather and interpret engineering data for support of documentation requirements.

4.  Interface with Product Management and Technical Publications departments to coordinate development and release of Product/User-based documentation related to current projects.

5.  Develop templates, formats and standards as defined by engineering and product management for documentation.

6.  Coordinate workload and release schedules for JANA production facilities.

7.  Work as primary production interface onsite at client.

8.  Be available for quick-turn documentation requirements, and last-minute release efforts.

 

Skills & Requirements:

 

1.  Must be “expert” level user of MS WORD.

2.  Strong background in development of templates, formats and standards for technical documentation.

3.  Senior engineering level writer with 5-10 experience in the Aerospace/Mechanical field from the following companies is highly desirable:

a. Hamilton Sundstrand

b.  Honeywell

c. G.E.

d.  Pratt Whitney

e. United Technologies

4.  Must be “Local”, as position is located in Northridge, California (north end of San Fernando Valley).

5.  Strong preferences for candidate with previous success as onsite rep for outsource efforts.

6.  Should possess skills using a data management suite/configuration management platform.

7.  Strong knowledge of the following product lines:

a. Turbine engines

b.  Electro-mechanical systems

c. Software based control systems

d.  Multiple power generation processes (battery, fuel, gas, etc.)

8.  Degree in mechanical engineering preferred, or senior level industry experience required.
