Service Sales Account Manager

General Purpose: Responsible for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships within assigned accounts/region and to sell post warranty Service Contracts, selected CIM and WTG upgrade products.

Essential Functions:

1.  Develops and maintains relationships with existing customers; leverages relationships to ensure renewals of services and to develop new business opportunities.

2.  Facilitates and coordinates multi-level management communication between Vestas and customer.  Owns customer communications.

3.  Sells service packages to new and existing customers within assigned customer list, including parts, upgrades, SCADA, etc.

4.  Prepares strategic account summaries for key accounts, negotiation plans, and services sales forecast pipeline.  Position requiries regular, proactive communication, via face-to-face meetings, telephone and email.

5.  Records and tracks information from customers to provide information and recommendations for issue resolution by appropriate internal group.

6.  Actively pursues recapture opportunities for lost accounts.

7.  Assists with services product marketing development.

8.  Assists with answering contractual questions from customers’ warranty and service agreements.

Education, Training & Skills:

Musts:

§ Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business or equivalent.

§ 3+ year’s customer relations/sales experience in a commercial setting.

§ Business development experience, including “cold calling.”

§ General wind turbine industry knowledge.

§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

§ Demonstrated negotiation skills.

§ Ability to read and understand contracts, comfortable with contract interpretation.

§ Ability to understand technical language and to recognize and differentiate technical issues.

 

PREFERREDS:

§ Masters degree, technical degree or MBA

§ 5+ years outside sales experience, preferably selling service agreements for technical products.

§ Complex capital equipment sales experience requiring long sales cycle.

§ Experience in selling complex electro-mechanical systems.

§ Budget Management: No budgetary accountability.

§ Interaction: Regularly interacts with internal personnel, and with customers.

§ Travel:  40% or more (U.S. and Canada)
