Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for Shorebase Operators through May 10, 2008 to assume material handling, paperwork accountability, inventory control and maintenance responsibilities for shorebase operations.These positions rotate between our Venice, Leeville, and Intracostal City, Louisiana shore bases and work 7 / 7 schedules. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities:• Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event• Dispatches shorebase vessels as required for day to day operations• Maintains Manifest and/or Marine Dispatching programs• Operates a wide range of communication equipment including Very High Frequency (VHF) and Frequency Modulation (FM) / Wide Area Radio System (WARS) radios while coordinating and monitoring the movement of marine vessels and land based transportation to support production, drilling and construction operations• Directs loading and unloading operations, including critical handling of Oilfield Tubular Goods for drilling and workover operations• Tallies materials (via. Shipping Manifest program) to verify accuracy of delivery invoices• Originates, completes, and distributes paperwork associated with all material handling (including hazardous material) and other shorebase activities• Provides work direction to shorebase contract personnel• Assures all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellent standards and regulatory requirements• Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:• Minimum of three years recent shorebase operations experience• Ability and willingness to work 7 / 7 rotational schedule at various shorebases• Ability and willingness to work 12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays• Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection processPreferred Qualifications:• Five plus year's recent years recent shorebase operations experience• Broad knowledge of shorebase processes• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), and communication systems and protocols• Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customersRelocation Options:Relocation will not be consideredInternational Considerations:Expatriate assignments will not be considered for this positionEOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-LA-Venice Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
