Software Test Automation Engineer

eSolar develops large utility-scale solar power plants to cleanly and cost-effectively generate electricity on a massive scale.  eSolar is an Idealab company and located in Pasadena.Position Purpose:In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that our software performs correctly as specified and meets our quality and performance standards.  You will be designing and developing automated integration and functional tests. You will work closely with development and test teams to ensure the final code delivery meets product standards.
Key Position Accountabilities:Design, produce, execute and maintain software test plans and test cases based on requirements and specifications.Design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of automated tests.Perform function, integration, and regression tests, validate defect solutions on software and associated hardware, in the test lab and in field locationsDocument defects in a defect tracking system including the details of the problem & steps for recreatingDevelopment of scripts or utilities to increase test efficiency where appropriate
Requirements:3+ years of experience in test automation including functional, integration and regression testing2+ years working as a test automation engineer in a C#/.Net environment1+ years of professional development experience in C# and SQL required.  Some test automation will require C# development1+ years of experience testing integrated hardware/software systemsWell versed in QA best practices, processes, and tools.Able  to interact with proprietary hardware and work with hardware test engineers to insure the complete system operationAble to understand and translate functional requirements/specifications into working test plan and/or test cases as requiredBS in Physics or Math or EE preferredAbility to document tests and report results with verbal and written communication skills Capable of taking a lead role in the development and execution of test plans and procedures.Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and /or process controls a plus
