Sox Analyst

Organizational Statement Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing has an opening for a Sox Analyst in our Houston, TX office. A major emphasis will be on the evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems of internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). This will involve extensive interaction and coordination with process owners, external auditors, and internal auditors.Responsibilities Be a key resource for business and IT process and sub-process owners involved in the SOx compliance and certification.Under the direction of the SOx Manager and Senior, participate in all aspects of the SOx compliance and certification cycle which include risk-based scoping and coverage, process mapping, change management of process documentation, and monitoring progress towards gap remediation, documentation of new controls and processes, etc.Under the direction of the SOx Manager and Senior, participate in the development and enforcement of standards for scoping and coverage, process mapping, documentation, control evaluations, gap remediation and certification sign-offs.Work closely with business and IT process and sub-process owners to ensure that key controls are designed and operating effectively throughout the year; identify new and changed processes impacting SOx controls compliance to ensure that new key and changed controls are identified, documented, and evaluated in a timely manner.Serve as the ¿expert user¿ with respect to Livelink for Internal Controls, and support the System Administrator as necessary. Also serve as a resource for process owners using the tool.Attend status meetings with Canadian counterpartsUndertake regular research to stay current with relevant legislation, precedents, practices, and opportunities.Qualifications Candidates would have an accounting, business or finance degree combined with 3-5 years of related experienceSolid knowledge of internal controls, business processes and accounting standardsExperience implementing and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404Good analytical skills Big 4 Experience (Desired)Familiarity with PCAOB, SEC regulationsIndustry experience (Desired)Confidence and flexibility.
