Sr. Analyst - Work Mgmt. Support

We are the largest distributor of natural gas in the northeastern US; serving 3.4 million customers in NY, MA, NH and RI.We are searching for Senior Analysts for our Work Management Support area in our Process and Systems Department in Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities are as follows: Provide user support for Work Management Systems utilized by Design, Scheduling, Stations and Field Operations departments (STORMS, iScheduler, ACIS). Collaborate with and advise various systems users groups to identify and prioritize process and/or systems changes and enhancements. Analyze National Grid business processes related to the use of systems and identify/implement opportunities for change to maximize efficiency and value of the system to the users. Work closely with IS to manage systems issues and change requests. Identify best technical and business solutions. Write business requirements and functional specifications for developers. Facilitate development, testing and implementation of identified changes. Develop job aids, communications and limited training support for users. Develop test plans and documentation for application upgrades and other changes. Interface and represent National Grid with key application vendors, advocate for priority changes in future product releases. Seek and promote industry ‘best practices’ to achieve business objectives. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other technical fields or minimum 5 years equivalent experience. Strong understanding of design and field operations processes, applications, and data. Working knowledge of Work Management, Outage Management, Operations and Customer Service applications and underlying business processes. Experience with both gas and electric business processes. Experience with relational database applications. Proficient with computer applications including demonstrated skills in spreadsheets, databases, query tools and general applications usage. Exceptional and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional and demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress independently. Demonstrated ability to formulate, and implement business processes and strategies with only general direction. Ability to travel throughout the System as needed.
