SR. BUYERPASADENA, MDCONTRACT TO HIRE FORTUNE 200 COMPANY The Senior Buyer is responsible for a variety of buying, contract administration, and materials management activities to ensure flexible and fast response to customer needs. The Senior Buyer negotiates and executes contracts and purchases in accordance with current standards and processes and works on complex issues and development strategies for large budgets. Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers, focusing on cost savings, supplier diversity, and assuring on-time delivery of quality parts and services. The Senior Buyer develops a deep understanding of market commodities, demonstrates fully developed negotiation skills, and implements a procurement strategy that impacts assigned categories. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develops a sourcing approach and strategies or alternate solutions, and identifies and captures new sourcing opportunities where Supply Chain can add value and drive cost savings 2. Develops a deep understanding of the market and develops a complimentary procurement strategy of the market 3. Negotiates prices, terms and conditions of purchase orders, contracts, warranties, and agreements in accordance with current standards, processes, and Delegation of Financial Authority (DOFA) 4. Prepares requests for proposal/quotation and analyzes and evaluates multi supplier responses 5. Ensures on-time delivery of quality parts and services 6. Prepares award recommendations that incorporate total cost of ownership and places purchase orders, contracts, change-in-orders, and Master Agreements 7. Supports category purchasing efforts 8. Ensures supplier performance measures (e.g. scorecards) are developed, monitored, and delivered to both customer units and suppliers 9. Supports inventory goals as outlined in balanced scorecard to support warehouse operations 10. Reviews all contract documents and ensures supplier compliance with terms and conditions 11. Consults with Legal and Risk Management if any of the approved terms and conditions needs to be modified 12. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers 13. Develops supplier diversity opportunities by identifying new and/or alternative suppliers. Identifies and commercially qualifies new suppliers. 14. Assists customers in the development of procurement technical specifications and establishes procurement schedules 15. Develops presentations and presents recommended Supply Chain solutions in a clear, concise, and effective manner to leadership to gain understanding and support 16. Collaborates with customer and proposes alternate solutions 17. Accountable for key deliverables associated with procurement processes 18. Coaches, mentors, and trains buyers, coordinators, and associate buyers Education/Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 2. Minimum 5 years procurement experience 3.
