This position may be filled as an Engineer I, II, III or Sr. Engineer depending upon the qualifications and skills of the applicant.

 

The position primarily provides Power Generation Engineering services for gas, coal and hydro generation plants for the Beaumont Area Office (Lewis Creek, Nelson, Sabine and Toledo Bend). The incumbent will provide engineering and project management services to the all of generating plants. The Plants are located in, Willis TX, Bridge City TX, Westlake, LA and Burkeville, TX (all within 120 miles of Beaumont, TX).

 

Responsible for the following with an emphasis on Mechanical Engineering: Perform design engineering for small Capital and O&M projects, provide project management (of internal and external resources) for design and construction/installation of large Capital and O&M projects,  provide technical issue resolution and coordinate specialized maintenance engineering services for power plant equipment and systems.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university with the intent of obtaining a Professional Engineering license or currently possess a Professional Engineering license.  Must be able to maintain open, timely and positive communications with customers.  Must be able to work under adverse conditions (confined spaces, elevated temperatures, high elevations, climb ladders, etc.) Must be ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and communicate recommendations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.  Excellent PC skills required.  Project management, scheduling and coordination experience preferred.

 

Engineer I:

Engineering Degree Zero and 0-2 years of applicable and progressive experience

 

Engineer II:

Engineering Degree and Two 2-4years of applicable and progressive experience

 

Engineer III:

Engineering Degree and Four 4-6 years of applicable and progressive experience

 

Sr. Engineer:

Engineering Degree and 6+ years of applicable and progressive experience

 

Fossil auxiliary systems technical knowledge a plus. Fossil power plant maintenance or operations experience preferred.
